Thanks to Serena Morones for the pics. I watched with my wife, a Husky. I had no dog or duck in the fight. Clearly the better team won. And the better quarterback. Undefeated and beat the media's darling twice. Phil Knight cannot buy a win when it counts. I bet that hurts.
Not as dramatic as the earlier contest, but same point spread. Hats off to Washington in this classic tilt between the two Backstabber universities. I mean that sincerely!
I was on the same bandwagon as John. Then I read his column, and several others today that thought the Ducks were a foregone conclusion and then I suspected the Huskies would surprise everyone. Everyone not a UW fan had written them off. (For the record, I’m a Beav.)
Not sure I agree Brian. The games are won and lost by the players and coaches - not by the media or fans hyping the game up.
It may be fair to say that Duck players were over-confident and lost, but it I think it is because in the end the Huskies were better this year. I’m a Duck and have been for 50 years - I will admit we were out-schemed and pushed around in this game.
I am referring to the predictions of a blowout (10 points at the sports books and a lot more by pundits) for the Ducks, including by JC here. That is a result of hype. There was nothing leading up to the game suggesting the Ducks would blowout the Huskies. If it was the win over OSU, that completely missed the fact that Jonathan Smith let the players know he was gone before the game (and they would have guessed anyway by all the rumors and the MSU game on the scoreboard). OSU looked flat and I commented on that during the game to several on boards. It was unbelievable how they played considering the situation. The week before, the Beavers had held the Huskies to their lowest point total of the year. Some people interpreted that to mean the Ducks were a LOT better. Hype convinced them. The Ducks have a huge media machine and it shows in the big games when they fail to live up to it.
Watched to the end of what would have been a great game if the two teams had not participated in the demise of the PAC12 for money. Despicable end to a great conference. Whoever they play in the. championship I will root for.
Great heavyweight title fight. The better team won. Twice.
Left no doubt.
Indeed.

Beating Ducks for PAC12 Chip? Awesome! Beating them 3 consecutive times? Priceless!
Go Dawgs!
DAWGS!!!
Huskies know how to win close games!! Didn’t love that we let them come all the way back and go ahead but way to persevere, DAWGS!!
The record in those close games is remarkable.

The Ducks and Huskies "had no choice" as they will tell you endlessly
Hope you didn’t bet the house on your 38-21 pick John.
Huge win. Read: https://www.johncanzano.com/p/canzano-pac-12s-final-breath-ends

The Nike / Duck hype machine was in overdrive leading up to the game. The result was a Washington win. Hardly an upset for the higher ranked team

Hype doesn’t matter once the ball is kicked off.

The Oregon Fighting Ducks bow down to Washington; and with that, Pac-12 Conference football comes to an end. 😔
I see George Kliavkoff grew a goatee. Was he trying to change is appearance or something? Git outta here!!
Absolutely love this comment!!!
He is really a solo Jazz performer. Drjimxlaw64@gmail.com
Glad the Dawgs won, but they still suck. Go Cougs!
Great pics Serena! Thanks for the memories of an epic game between two great teams; the Huskies had the edge and came out on top.
Great game, eh? WINNING BY FIELD GOAL?
Any pics of the mascot reunion?

I was told Oregon was the better team.
No doubt now.
