BOULDER, Colo. — Oregon State used smothering defense and a relentless running attack to come away with a 26-19 victory over Colorado on Saturday.
Beavers’ running back Damien Martinez rushed for 115 yards on 21 carries. OSU dominated for three quarters, and held on in the final 15 minutes to win. Read my column from Folsom Field after Oregon State’s victory.
I took a unique approach with the photographer on Saturday. Matt Jones is a professional shooter who specializes in outdoor adventure sports, cycling, mountain bike racing, climbing, etc. I met with Jones, who is based in Colorado, and asked him to treat the football game in the same manner he might photograph one of his other assignments.
His photo gallery is a fun look:

Thanks for the opportunity to shoot these John! Had a ton of fun, learned a lot, and took home lots of valuable insight on how to shoot football photos even better the next time. Definitely a cool departure from my usual!
You could probably do an expansive photo montage on Kelly the defensive coordinator. OR maybe not, as looking frustrated only has so many looks.
