Since you seem to be an expert on this topic. Where was the Uber supposed to go, that the Beavs and Cougs foolishly passed on?

You tell me, GoBeavs. Every other Pac-12 team landed in another conference. Whether they wanted to or not. What was OSU and WSU doing to campaign their way into another Power 5? Everyone is saying, “oh, nobody wants them.” Garbage. I don’t believe it. The Big XII was their best bet, and I think more could have been done to beg, borrow, or steal to gain acceptance, and maintain their Power 5 status. I’m of the belief that the PAC as we know it, will be dead this summer. And it ain’t coming back. Like we’ve been hearing, realignment is only going to get worse, not better. I don’t know what the Beavers and Cougars think they have in mind by standing pat or waiting around for a blended MW/Pac2 marriage (maybe), but it won’t be considered Power 5. I actually feel sorry for you guys, not happy. If it was the Ducks who were left behind, I’d be pissed! You should be… you should be.

All of the Pac2, NCAA money and the $3.8 mil TV deals are nice, but limiting. There must be more sources of funds later on. You guys need a conference. That’s what I know. Or don’t know. I’m just spitballing anyway.

Do you honestly think that they didn’t try? If the networks won’t give more money to the incoming conference to bring them in, there was no way they were going to dilute their current share. Cal and Stanford are joining the ACC at a loss and major impact on athletes joining a conference 3 times zones away. They didn’t stand pat for the fun of it. Without any viable options keeping the PAC alive even if in name only netted them $255m. If they just would have joined the mountain west that would have all been split with the other 10. They can always settle for the MWC in 2 years. Big12 makes the most sense for both, but ESPN and Fox have to give more money to the big12 to do it or it won’t happen.
