Ducks eliminated in double-overtime NCAA Tournament thriller.
PITTSBURGH — Jermaine Couisnard and N’Faly Dante were on fumes late Saturday night at PPG Paints Arena. Still, the two Oregon Ducks seniors nearly carried their team to the Sweet 16 before losing in double overtime in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Final score: Creighton 86, Oregon 73.
“We’ve been riding them all year,” UO coach Dana Altman said. “So it was special to watch those two guys. Just — we had our chance. Like I said, we had our chance. We just made some critical mistakes there in regulation. And that’s on me.”
Creighton scored the first 15 points of the second overtime, pulling away from Oregon on a night that the No. 11 seed matched the No. 3 seed Blue Jays punch-for-punch. Couisnard scored 32 points. Dante had 28 points and 20 rebounds.
Said Dante: We just didn’t do everything we were supposed to do, to be honest. I don’t know what to even say. I mean this one just hurts.”

They did themselves, their school and the old PAC-12 proud! Well done, Ducks!
Cousinard and Dante. To end their Oregon careers with performances that broke PAC12 legendary records (ie Lou Alcinder's) and both have their career high scoring games in this tourney after leading the Ducks to the last PAC12 tourney championship ever. Wow! What warriors. Proud to be Ducks.
That said its hard for two guys to carry a team. Game was lost when Shelstad got hurt.
