You don't think Oregon State, with its computer science, engineering and BA programs, doesn't have wealthy donors? They just aren't as personally motivated as Phil, who was an athlete at Oregon. The OSU donors will show up, probably already are, to keep things rolling. Maybe HP wants a piece of the action. Who knows what billionaires the robotics program creates.

yeah, we do. people underestimate how much OSU could raise. The problem is it would need to come from more places and takes more work. NIKE is on another level, even above Nvidia which OSU has, and its a lot easier when you have one MAJOR donor who is all in. Not only does OSU have engineering, dont forget we have one of the best construction management programs. Some of those construction companies have some deep pockets too.

Yep....my younger brother worked for CH2M for 25 years and did very well when they sold out to Jacobs Engineering. There is a lot of CH2M money floating around Corvallis.
