I can't watch this game...it reminds me that without a collapse last week the Ducks would be in it and I would be there.

Great game. Just what you want a conference championship to look like.

Utah went on a 44-7 run after being down 17-3. They deserve Roses

And with decent officiating!

Agreed; if, you don't care about the Pac-12's bottom line.

Now, watch Utah lose to penn State in the Rose Bowl.

Are these champ games worth the candle?

We’ll see. Like tonight, they still play the game on the field.

In the NFL that would have been unnecessary roughness on a hit like that on the QB. He unzipped his helmet damn!!!

I can't wait to see Serena's photo of that play. Watch for the update.

If that wasn t targetting it doesn't exist! Reviewed and they still got it wrong. Classic PAC 12 officiating. Who was the announcer/ analyst who said it wasn't. An idiot. The crown of the defender's helmet hit Rising right in the face mask and knocked his helmet off.

An area they need to clean up their definitions.

That hit was something to remember, wow. Also wow that Utah just took throttle on that game and made a big statement. Good on them

I didn’t notice if he had his helmet chinstrap buckled on all the way, sometimes they don’t. But man, what a monster hit!

Defense looks just like his Oklahoma defenses

The Utah D is what a Bray defense will look like if the Beavs can upgrade their talent a notch. Utah has a LOT of 4 star players on D. The Beavs almost all 3 star. The difference in size and speed is noticeable. That said, the Utah secondary has left a lot of Trojans uncovered, especially early. The Beav secondary is better.

Beavs # 1 need is QB

Expand full comment
Brian M's avatar

Yep. And if they had the athletes Utah has on the D front 7 with a reliable QB they are top 10. They have the best coaching. O line, secondary, RBs, TEs and WRs are always good since Erickson (except for Anderson). They are so close!

Awesome for Utah and great for PAC 12! USC can’t just buy a playoff team and waltz off to big 10.

Great for the Pac-12? The Pac-12 may have just lost a Heisman winner and and a second NY6 bowl pay day.

Are you serious? USC is a big 10 proxy. Utah showed there are tougher teams remaining in the conference.

Count the benjis?

What difference besides the Pac losing millions of dollars; especially, if Utah again folds up in the Rose Bowl. This time against Penn State.

Good riddance. They didn't deserve to win 2-3 games that were handed to them by PAC 12 officials.

Heisman? Nails was on his back most of the fourth quarter.

As I thought, USC is not tough, is a paper tiger. Their boosters went out and bought the best players on the portal and it was not nearly enough to beat Utah. I love my Beavs, but OSU had them beat and threw the game away and OSU is appropriately ranked at #15. I think USC is maybe 13 o4 14, but definitely not #4. Utah is a top #10 team. I would have loved OSU to get the better bowl game, but they are moving the right direction, regardless.

USC had to play a good team and only benefitted from a couple horrible no calls by PAC 12 officials and got their butts handed to them. Run out the back door to the Big 10 and don't let the door hit you in the backside!

MarriedDuckfanforever# What a game for the UTES! I think it shows, that the soon to be “PAC 10” doesn’t need USC in the conference to show it’s got some power…sad the “chosen 4” are usually east of the Mississippi

In that shot of the two coaches one (Whittingham) looks like the ham-sandwich, hard hat, blue collar guy who knows how to get things done and Riley like the fresh-faced frat boy and former class president who everyone calls the wonder-kind of his sport. The lunch-pail guy just handed the frat boy a hard dose of reality. Football is a tough business and not for show-n-tell. Kudos to Utah.

HATS OFF TO THE UTES!

TIP: This is the Pac-12. Not allowed to have playoff nice things. Thanks in part to Utah stumbling at the goal line at UF.

A 12 team PO may help but I doubt that conference will ever stop going cannibal on one another.
