So happy for our team and our coach. All of the men’s sports that are hyper fueled by NIL have shown me that women’s sports has the “soul” of college sports that I love.
The potential is there and they have a coach who has been there before. I would love it if multiple PAC 12 teams made a deep run this year…. except UCLA of course…. 😏
Great shots Serena. Always enjoy your pictures. I would of liked to see a few more crowd pictures. You always do such a good job of capturing the emotion in the stands.
And while I'm here....Women's hoops rock! Watched Iowa vs Nebraska, South Carolina vs LSU (wow!) and USC vs Stanford today. ALL the games were great and the women play with an intensity and joy that I rarely see in the men's game. I think I will miss the "other sports" much more than the football with the demise of the Pac12. It truly was the Conference of Champions as our friend Bill Walton so often proclaimed.
I saw these games as well, Skip—they were all great contests, and although the scrum toward the end of the South Carolina LSU game was a bummer, the basketball was a joy to watch.
Hey John, any chance you think the Pac-12 conference might ever think of changing the John R. Wooden award in ladies basketball to the Tara Van Derveer Award in honor one of Americas winningest basketball coaches.
Really good photos—thanks to Serena! This game proved 1) Stanford can be beaten; and 2) USC is very good even with the young, inexperienced Watkins having a bad freshman day. Her team had her and each others’ backs. She will learn from this and it will hopefully make her more selfless and even better on court.

That team is peaking at the right time. Could be a Final Four team.

Serena is so talented.

Very interesting reactions from people to that scrum.
Angst against the tide
Now maybe Juju will realize this team isn’t all about her.
9 points... it couldn't possibly be all her.

That could happen. I wonder. I'll ask.
Well, the “so called” Coach of the PAC got beat with the “so called best talent “ their top player and yes, USC DID A # on them!!!
Will be interesting to see how the selection alignment will now be determined!!!
Yes. very very interesting. Have to think USC and Stanford would be slotted to be in Portland Regional and UCLA/Oregon State head to Albany.
Find them baffling.

Stanford has so much talent... weird to see them go to sleep at times.
