LAS VEGAS — USC beat Stanford in every meaningful statistical category during Sunday’s Pac-12 Conference Tournament women’s basketball championship game.
Final score: Trojans 74, Cardinal 61.
USC outrebounded Stanford (48-28), scored more points off turnovers (21-6), and never trailed after early in the first quarter. The No. 2-seed Trojans upset the Cardinal and walked off as the tournament champions.
The rebounding and points scored off turnovers helped USC overcome a poor shooting performance by star JuJu Watkins, who made only two of her 15 shots. Watkins finished with nine points. USC guard McKenzie Forbes led all scorers with 26 points.
Serena Morones was on the scene at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday.

So happy for our team and our coach. All of the men’s sports that are hyper fueled by NIL have shown me that women’s sports has the “soul” of college sports that I love.
Great shots Serena. Always enjoy your pictures. I would of liked to see a few more crowd pictures. You always do such a good job of capturing the emotion in the stands.
And while I'm here....Women's hoops rock! Watched Iowa vs Nebraska, South Carolina vs LSU (wow!) and USC vs Stanford today. ALL the games were great and the women play with an intensity and joy that I rarely see in the men's game. I think I will miss the "other sports" much more than the football with the demise of the Pac12. It truly was the Conference of Champions as our friend Bill Walton so often proclaimed.
