SAN DIEGO — Oregon State used a strong run game and smothering defense to get a 21-0 win over San Diego State on Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium.

Running back Jam Griffin rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Gevani McCoy passed for 160 yards. But OSU’s defense was the big story of the night — it limited the Aztecs to seven first downs and zero points.

I wrote a column about OSU’s 2-0 start and a looming Civil War game against the Oregon Ducks. Photographer Megan Ellis was in San Diego on assignment for JohnCanzano.com.
