CORVALLIS — Fresno State beat Oregon State, 36-27, on Saturday at Reser Stadium.
The Bulldogs (2-1) came from behind in the final minute to kick a go-ahead field goal and tacked on a “pick-six” interception return in the closing seconds to seal the victory.
The Beavers fell to 0-2.
I was at Reser Stadium and wrote a column about OSU coach Trent Bray, who had a shaky day. Photographer JJ Anderson was on the scene, shooting the game for JohnCanzano.com.
The Beavers were sloppy, particularly on special teams. OSU struggled to snap the ball successfully on several kicks and punts. I asked Anderson what the vibe was like on the sideline while the home crowd was jeering and booing.
“The Bronx cheers were very audible from the sidelines in response to the special teams mishaps and coaching decisions,” he said. “That was my immediate takeaway. I talked to my dad about it on the way home. It definitely wasn’t something that could be blocked out from the Beaver sideline.”

Great pics, loved the atmosphere. Painful game to watch.🚶🏾
Nice job, JJ. You took some great photos on a tough day, and they.document the fact that, even in hard times (and they are), they are still our Beavs. Thanks!
