I am glad you are going to be traveling to other campuses to follow stories beyond the Northwest. I am a Cal alum and season ticket holder as well as a paid subscriber to your newsletter. I think you will find a larger readership if you develop a wider focus. Your excellent coverage of the media rights story is a good example of that wider focus.

Big plans. Won't be limited to Oregon schools.

Scholar athlete = “kind of taking random classes to stay eligible” and “yoga was the kind of class I was looking for” nothing against the kid who graduated in three years (took me five+ to do my undergrad), but the NCAA is such a sham!

Amazon clearly has a resolution, buy another TV.

Just wait for when you want to flip between the OSU game and UO game and one is on Apple TV+ and the other on Prime TV. It will drive you nuts. The company which can provide PIP with streaming channels on their TV will be a winner. Are there any current smart TVs which provide this functionality?

If you buy a second Amazon* Fire Stick (should be under $20 on cyber Monday) and plug it into a different TV input you can switch back and forth quickly just by changing the input on your TV remote.

You can do the same thing with an Apple TV on another input. . . .

My LG TV has 4 inputs that make it easy to switch between 3 devices and your main TV feed. As a Fios subscriber, I’ll be happy to see Pac 12 content available on a source other than Comcast

good idea.

I guess I could bring up both streams on my computer with the computer connected to the TV. Then you can adjust the windows to fit the display.

It costs about $4 dollars per Thursday night games on prime and there are 13 left. Inferior quality on my comcast hd tvs (3). Jeff Bezoz should improve his deal, and my comcast is allegedly high- speed internet. Bezos tried to charge me $100 for prescription cat food. Then, amazon said they could not reach either of my two vets, one of which is Dove Lewis, and open 24/7. So, they cancelled my order. My vet can now get it and my price is $50. Watch out on amazon, which I use a lot, as sometimes their prices are way too high. Maybe this is how his ex-wife only got 1.2 BILLION dollars in the divorce. You can bet on Beaver and Duck games at the Spirit Mtn. casino in Sheridan, Or. My pick of the century is I got the Trojans at -6.5. No home field advantage with a huge throng of at least 25,000 Beavo Nation fans. Have liked this game for two weeks. My new Nike kicks (model 39 air pegasus Oregon Duck specials), just out) are best yet. They are green and I replaced the green laces with yellow ones from an earlier model) Like slippers, and built for long distance running or walking. They were hard to get, but I got em! Had Pittsburgh last night, so the shoes are no longer underfeated, Lemon yellow and green are duck colors, and the yellow is lemony and bright! Thanks Uncle Phil! I agree with you Mr. Canzano, about the Boston Fiasco; much like the current Blazer head coach who is poor coach, has serious past issues, but I am sure he is as innocent as O,J, Simpson. Speaking of OJ, I was at Parker stadium in 1967 warching him versus Dee Andros , and the mighty beavs, in 6 inch deep mud. Final was 3-0 and Simpson had trouble getting his footing in the mud. The Beaver black jerseys did not show the mud. I know USC has lost in Corvallis fairly recently. I think it could be close, and OSU will lose by at least 7. Thought the point spread would be much higher, and everybody and their brother and sister, and 3rd cousins, have bet on the Beavers. It has to be because Beavers are at home, but that does not bother me at all. Have seen all Trojan games this year. Their coach is in the elite, and he brought his qb from Oklahoma with him. They have the best trio of receivers in the land. Beavs were lucky to win at Fresno State, and last week USC man-handled Jeff Tedford. Trojans are loaded, but as my dear deceased dad told me 65 years ago :"well Donnie, sometimes the best team does not win" Took me awhile to figure that one out, but I got it now. Do not like the cliche of "on any given day, either team can win" Loved your philosophy quotes in a recent artice John. I like poetry and Shakespere (sp) a lot. I love to read and write and type fast! Since I bet the farm on USC; it is my only lock! Other games I will watch are Texas A and M over Arkansas, Florida and Tennessee, and like Clemson-7. I do not think Wisconsin can hang with Ohio State, and I predict Duck game will be good and close. My new Duck specials, shiny new shoes, I know are going to be good luck! You are never supposed to wager more than you can afford to lose ever. If USC does not win by 7, I can always pitch a tent in front of the downtown Hilton, where I used to stay. Have a few pro games picked which I will post on here after USC wins tomorrow night. I will ride with Bills, Kansas City, and Tom Brady each week, and also Eagles too. Packers will not beat Tom Brady, and I like Giants over Cowboys on Monday night for first place! GO DUCKS

Udoka was the character guy everyone pointed to when the Blazers hired Billups. Could it be the Blazers got it right by hiring the guy who won sportsman AND teammate of the year while playing in the NBA? Who's jersey hangs in the rafters of two arenas?

Counterpoint: Becky Hammon.

I wonder how things would be different in Boston this morning had it been Grant Kennedy, Canadian Men's National Team player and not Ime Udoka, Nigerian Men's National Team player. Leaving Udoka's future uncertain like this isn't fair to anyone. Either say he's coming back next season of cut him loose so everyone can move on.

Feels like they should have just cut him loose.

The thought I have regards advertising. If it takes 30 seconds to switch from one streaming service to another then will people decide to not bother trying to switch? How many more ads can a streaming service serve to their viewers if their viewers are not willing to switch channels/services because it is too much of a bother?

Amazon Prime and other streaming broadcasts mark the end of casually flipping between games. Once again, the fans get screwed by television greed.

I watched the NFL Prime game last night (missed the prior week) and the feed was bad….constantly freezing during the game action but fine for non action. I’d love to blame my internet provider but I watch games on Fox, ESPN, CBS and NBC just fine with no issues….not sure what the problem was but assume it’s on Amazons end.

One thing I noticed Thursday was how easy it was to order a Steelers or Browns jersey if you were watching through a Fire Stick. And I am now predicting that it will soon be very easy to place a bet in the same way. Will the Steelers turn the ball over on this possession: Yes +950, No -700

My general question is: why do I need streaming when I can access ESPN multiple channels, FOX, FS1, all networks, PAC12 Network channels with my existing subscription package on DISH-TV? I would appreciate the answer to this question.

I was with you Dan! With the marriage on the line, my husband finally convinced me to make the switch to streaming (I am a bigger sports fan than he is so truly this was a huge deal for me...I don't like change)...Came down to economics for us. Our Direct TV package was close to $180 a month and that didn't include Disney Plus, Apple TV, etc. We tried Hulu. Hated it. Switched to YouTube TV (about $65 a month) and we are golden!! I love not having a box, satellite or any gear you have to rent. We can watch on phones or devices and don't have any lag issues. We see more than when I had the Sports Package with Direct TV (We don't get Pac 12 and I am ok with it on principle alone). Streaming is not for everyone, but with teenagers and a husband who likes all the streaming dramas and content, I relinquished control and we won't go back. Hope this sheds some light. =)

Thanks for your input, Gena. You make some persuasive arguments, but I have a couple of questions: Who is your internet provider? Is your download speed adequate for buffer-free viewing? My Dish "everything" package is about $245 month and I can switch instantly between Pac12 channel to any other sports channel. If I would switch, I, too would probably choose YouTube streaming. What would you do if the Pac12 stays with DishTV for football and basketball? :)

Well, Dan...you would think being 30 minutes from Silicon Valley would give you great internet options...it doesn't! We have Charter internet and have a medium of the road package (not basic, not Cadillac). We have NO issues with buffering and we have over 25 devices that stream (Ridiculous but with 4 tv's, tablets, laptops, gaming consoles it adds up). I am not a tech savvy person so I have a router from Costco and it all works great! I have learned remote controls are important. Amazon Fire remote is not for surfing. Roku is much easier to switch back and forth. Not quite as simple as just changing a DishTV channel, but not overly cumbersome. I went back and forth between the Giants (YouTube TV) and Dodgers (Apple TV) and it wasn't horrible but it was about 4 clicks. We follow Cal & Stanford, attend 1-2 Stanford football games in person, and usually can see most of their football & basketball games on the big networks or ESPN (we are watching San Jose State right now and can see 75% of their games). Do I wish I Pac 12 was a part of our package..absolutely...will I pay more to get it...absolutely not! Hope that helps!

You're helping me fill in some of the holes of TV coverage. Do you have Charter cable? Is most of your tv programming via streaming? Do your tv's have streaming aps (YouTube, Apple)? Where does your Charter internet cable originate before connecting to your router? My sports tv life would be so much simpler if Pac12 tv coverage would be with ESPN, Fox, or big networks. Streaming is OK if all my tv programs were included, but they are not. I''m spoiled with what Dish offers: Multiple music sources, documentaries, all news channels, and many other channels not offered via streaming. If most of your tv viewing is limited to a few channels, then streaming is cheaper, but a lot more complicated. I live in a semi-rural area near Redding, CA, so no cable available, and only source of moderately fast internet providers is Hughesnet via satellite. The best techn0lolgy is not available to those not living in large metropolitan areas. I'll step down from my soap box now. Thanks for your input.
