One forgets that most of these kids who do not "speak in complete, somewhat grammatically correct sentences" grew up in homes where they were not fortunate enough to have educated people teaching them grammatical english as infants where most of our language skills are formed. Even on the flip side, if a black kid is interviewed and has decent grammar, he is almost always referenced as "well-spoken" which is a subtle racial comment as well.
