Need the right owner, tho.

At this point even Donald Trump would be a better owner than what’s been happening since Allen died.

The only thing Donald Trump is qualified to own is a prison cell.

Still better than the current owners.

Sorry. No. We already have ineptitude... we don't need to combine that with dishonesty.

It feels unfortunate, but unsurprising, that all these things seem to be converging for the Blazers at once. It would have been great if new ownership were the first domino to fall, but the reality is that won't happen until after other potential franchise-altering events have taken place. Makes you wonder what Jody and Bert have been doing the past 3.5 years, since it was always well known Paul wanted the team sold after he died.

In the end money is always had the heart of most negotiations these days. Wouldn’t it be great if Portland and it’s great fans came out ahead. I guess time will tell.

Happy for Mr. Cronin. He stayed the course. Now let’s hope he can make the right decisions for the Trail Blazers.

Let’s see; Seattle ownership, Seattle management and Seattle TV announcer, what could go wrong?

The dark hand of Vulcan continues to pervade. Please God, throw some light on this storied franchise. If ever one - and it's fans - deserve it, it's Portland.

Bert Golde has been riding Paul Allen’s coattails for years. He’s incompetent and should have been shown the door early on.

Are there ownership rules, such that a consortium of buyers can act as the purchaser, or does the franchise have to be purchased by a single entity/person who owns 100% of the franchise.

I wonder if any Blazers develop emotional attachments to Portland, so the players stay there after they become disaffiliated from the team. Would former players want to invest as part owners?

Brad Weekly's avatar

Ariel, back in the day many, many former players made PDX their forever home. Not sure that is still the case, although Dame says it is and CJ has said he's coming back to the rural spread and winery he purchased when his playing days end.

If Portland does by miracle get the No. 1 or No. 2 pick, trust them to screw it up

JC, Any potential names of owners you'd be willing to share?
