What always draws me in John, is your empathy. I am very impressed in that part of you. I know you are a lightning rod for some. Quite honestly, I dont get that. A great writer, and empath. I think it would be great to have lunch with someone like you one day. Merry Christmas John, to you and your family!

I can't think of anything better than to post this prayer of healing for Mike and his family.

"Jesus, Divine Physician of souls, look upon Mike & his family with eyes of mercy. May your healing hand rest upon him. May your life-giving powers flow into every cell of his body and into the depths of his soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring Mike to wholeness and strength to be there for his loved ones. Amen."

I ran into him at church once when I was visiting family in Pullman. He's a genuine person, and I've always enjoyed him. I haven't always agreed with his tactics, both on an off the field, but I've always enjoyed the show. He knows how to entertain and motivate. His teams play hard, and are innovative. His offenses are not like the others, and yet he gets results, you have to respect the results. And I've never listened to a more entertaining coach than Leach. Praying for you Coach, and your family too. Hope to run into you at church again someday.

I look forward to Coach Leach opining on Near Death Experiences and everything he saw after he recovers fully. It’ll be a gas to read as well as enlightening and fun. Get well, Coach. We’ll be here waiting for ya.

Prayers for our Coach 🙏. In October he called my daughter to wish her a good outcome with her upcoming CT scan to determine status of her cancer. Even in his busy life he found the time ❤️. We are praying hard for you Coach 😢🙏

Well done John. Your writing about the possibilty of a world without Mike Leach reminds me of what losing loved ones years ago taught me: and that is that most things people think are important, are not. It's sad that it takes a catastrophy like Mike's health situation or similar circumstances closer to each of us to make that point abundantly clear. Your note was a good reminder, perhaps even a wake up call.

Don't know him except from TV, but he's always spoken like he wants to make people happy. His teams have always been great to watch. He might be the only person who can identify what's wrong with candy corn but not make candy corn lovers feel bad about it. Pulling for him

As a Husky fan, of course I luv the guy :)

In all seriousness though, I hope for a full recovery or at least where he can still enjoy his life and family. You’re 100% right, hug your kids, tell your mom you love her, all those things. Have a good Christmas.

I met Leach one night at the SeaTac airport. He was genuinely a nice guy and conversing with him was easy and light. Our conversation ranged from the Beavs coach at the time (Riley) to the inventor of the twist off bottle cap (I kid you not). It was a very entertaining flight and one I will not soon forget. All my thoughts go out to Coach and his family.
