I'm ready for the Beavers to win out their regular season and the Ducks to lose out theirs. Sweet November.

Swing and miss tiny tim. But you keep on doing your job reminding everyone that Oregon has the worst fan base in the west. Imagine some universe where an Oregon fan calls anyone arnorant (to use your own pitiful words) with any shred of sincerity. I shake the hand of the victor, but Husky fans are as rude as those bozos in Seahak land and as Huskies got beat down by Ducks 13 years in a row in recent years at ,an average of only 25 point victory margin for the 13, the Montlake Monsters could not be found. Husky free Oregon. Payback in 2023 in Montlake ill taste as good as the beer they sell in Husky stadium. Did it in 2021 and only had to pay 15 for a tall cold can, and Huskies never got close. Sorry Donnie....Beavs are as good or better than Ducks this year. At home the Beavs have a very good chance to win. The Beavs played the Huskies better than the Ducks did, and they were on the road in terrible conditions.

The Beavs passing game is a myth but the Beavs could road grade this Ducks team to victory?

Kick 2 FGs and you win at UW; analytics be damned.

Lets look at the stats: 212 yds / game passing is not a myth, that is a fact. Should it be 300 yds / game? Sure, that would be nice, but Chance Nolan was not that QB. Gulbranson MIGHT be that QB, but he is a freshman with 3 games as a starter. He does have the receivers to stretch the field, there is no doubt of that. Another 190 yds / game come on the ground, which is more than most programs. That is a total per game over 400 yds, a very healthy offensive output. OSU has a long tradition of run-first and recruits / builds their teams and O lines around that concept. I can't argue with that philosophy as most winning teams at all levels follow it. But yes, the Beavs beat the Huskies if they kicked field goals when they could. Other games (Fresno State / Stanford) the aggressive approach has worked well. Live by the sword and die by the sword.

Beavs have 3 pac-12 losses and Ducks 1. Ducks on top in tight non-civil game in huge 25,000 seat reser. Beavos again say "next year" and finishing at 5 losses on season is about like meltdown of 2021. Beaver men's basketball is lock to in more than 2 like they did last year.

Beavers have 3 losses, period. Yes, they lost to 3 very good programs, USC, Utah and Washington. The Ducks also lost to Washington and will play Utah Saturday. We will see how that goes. They don't have to play USC. Lucky them. The Ducks might also end up with 3 Pac 12 losses plus the Georgia loss, or 4 overall. The Beavers will have three losses overall if they beat ASU this weekend, likely, and beat Oregon on Nov 26, not a given, but I think likely given the history of Reser. So, you can look forward to an 8-4 season and the bowl that comes from that while the Beavs finish 9-3 with a better bowl game. Who is saying "next year"? You. I love roast Duck

They will again on Nov 26 and it will bring rivers of Duck-tears. PS, Beavers are 3 for 5 on the road in 2022. Ducks? They will end up 3 for 5 after losing to the Utes and the Beavs

I think it comes down to Bo Nix's health. If he's right for Utah and OSU I think the Ducks win both. I also like them against USC in the Pac12 title game. But they need to get there, first. Oh, and Washington is a pretty darn good team.

Expand full comment

Agree, Washington, with Penix, is pretty darn good. So why when the Beavs defended the Huskies better (24 pts) on the road and scored easily most of the game, are you so sure the Ducks win against Utah or the Beavs. I think you have a rude awakening coming

"Analytics" killed the Beavs in Seattle. Kick the darn FGs! Especially in bad weather and with the D playing so well.

Against USC? With the Ducks pass D? And if Addison and Williams are healthy?

Which team breaks serve 1st?

Expand full comment

Despite the collapse against the Huskies, I do think Oregon's D is better than SC's. And the Ducks can run the ball pretty much at will as evidenced by every game except UGA.

And even in the beat down in Atlanta the Ducks had the best yards per rush given up by the UGA D this season.

Gentry is supposed to be back at LB for SC against UCLA Saturday. With this kid on the field I'm not sure this Ducks D is better at least significantly better, than is the D of SC?

I think it will also depend on if the Ducks can rebound psychologically after such a devastating loss. It was at home, they were highly favored, it killed their CFP chances, and Nix’s Heisman hopes. Utah will be extremely physical, and Whittingham will have them ready.

I expect the conference will have 5 teams CT ranked on Tuesday but with little or no shot for the final 4 sans an SC team that defeats UCLA, Notre Dame and then wins the conference champ game.

This would = wins over 3 ranked teams and a win over a Notre Dame team that defeated both UNC and Clemson. SC has NO wins over ranked teams to date.

Ducks a FG favorite which means that Vegas sees the game as a push.

And god bless him but Lewis scares me every time he attempts a FG.

IMO, Rob should be asked about playing B12 teams OOC for the 6 years.

This is terrible and lazy scheduling. Look at future schedules, plenty of Pac-12 teams Have H+H games with SEC/B1G teams.

What is dropping to 8 games and playing annually against a putrid ACC conference going to do for the Pac-12?

Mullens Peter-Principled Helfrich, then hired 2 HCs with losing records in the G5 (anyone think Mario will bring Miami back?) before hiring an unknown in Lanning who is doing OK. The OR D is a sieve and the in-game play calling and decision making is questionable.

Mullens threw his hat in the ring for both the UGA and A+M AD jobs. BTW, he was NOT the AD who hired Dana Altman.

YOU DO NOT SCHEDULE CFB 1 OFF GAMES VS ANYWAY; especially, against southern teams in Dixie.

Lincoln Riley is squeeking by with Helton's kids and the transfer portal. College football isn't ready for a potential return of a Trojan dynasty if USC win out and gets to the CFP. Everybody is praying for that USC defense to keep backpedaling and missing tackles.

If Addison, Williams and Gentry are good to go SC is a tough out for anyone so long as Pac-12 refs don't get in the way.

lincoln Riley is a proven big time coach. Helton as a disaster. I as sure USC ould in in Reser this year. USC and UCLa ere smart to get off the titanic. Get out your calculator and see if you can see that 60 million per year for Big 10 teams versus 30 for pac-10 is HUGE Huge money runs all, and sports tv also. Hand Riley an extra 30 million per year and see obvious reality, Money can be paid legally to recruits.

If your family can be paid and you too, hen you are recruited to go to a school and no money , versus getting paid Today, gee I am confused. Pac-10 or 12 is so far behind the big boys is sad; basketball too. Bill altons conference is up in smoke long ago, like he is.

I don't disagree but in the long run will the 'net' be all that different? GK will sign a media deal that will conclude before the B1G's current deal and include a streaming component that the B1G rejected. IN 5 years or less it may be all about streaming?

BTW, I would not gloat about the Carol Folt, the UCLA Prex and Kevin Warren lying to GK and the Pac-12 conference. Folt never gave GK the chance to negotiate a bigger share of revenue for SC. UCLA is along for the ride only because it is in LA and FOX wanted to lock ESPN out of LA.

UCLA football in the B1G will = Minnesota at best. This instead of competing every season in the Pac-12 to be in a 12 team PO. Speaking of playoffs, in CBB the B1G is overrated year after year.

For years the Eastern sports media has referred to the Pac12 as the "wine and cheese league". They may have to adjust this thanks to "Pac12 at night" to the "Dive bar league" (I see the Ducks get to play at 730 PM again next week". What's the over/under on the time for the Civil War (ignore the Wokes) game?

Like you said, 'tricky weekend' ATS?

11-2 with a bowl win against Notre Dame in the Holiday Bowl? REJECT playing in the Alamo Bowl.

Utah and OR ST can't stretch the field like UW but can the OR D, which has played under par from what was expected this season, win 2 smash mouth games?

I do not not see the Ducks winning a shoot out vs SC?

Meanwhile, a 1L ACC champ is back in the mix. 8 games in a bad conference = SCAM. Both Clemson and UNC lost to a Notre Dame team that Stanford defeated.

My final 4 as of now (FWIW, Not much) 1. Georgia 2. Ohio State 3. TCU 4. Tennessee.

Would be a re-match between 1 and 4 in the Peach Bowl but I don't think the CT will rank a team that did not win its division over a P5 champ?

On turf? Indoors? Resting while UGA plays LSU? I think an UGA/TN rematch would be much more competitive than the game in Athens.

Watching LSU at ARK? I don't think the LSU OL has the chops to defeat UGA.

BTW coaches: Kick the darn FGs and stop chasing 2 point conversions too early in the game.

THIS could be a very good call; especially, with a W over ND. A W over UCLA will be a more tarnished win.

I doubt the Ducks can stop Harrison or Gould. Both are 4.3s. Martinez has really come on at RB and is also fast, 4.4s.

The question mark is QB Gulbranson, a freshman. But he seems to improve every game. He has the build and arm strength, if not the experience. Beavs have the best D in the Pac 12, except maybe Utah. Better than SC and better than the Huskies. Much better than the Ducks.
