Anyone who paints F ** K Utah on his fingernails while playing Utah should not win the Heisman. Not what I call “pursuit of excellence with integrity.”

I feel like coaches are the most qualified people to actually vote on these things, moreso than the media. And splitting the CotY also makes sense, even if that wasn't the express purpose, just the end result. It's harder to go from 4 to 10 wins as DeBoer did, but it's harder to get 9 wins in Corvallis than 10 in Seattle, so it's a hard call between the two. Riley and Whittingham both had great seasons, but didn't exceed expectations in the same way the two co-winners did.

My two favorite coaches share an appropriate honor. Good on ya Mssrs. DeBoer and Smith!

Re: offensive player of the year - Caleb Williams is a perfect choice. You don’t get more offensive than him, however, he IS a Trojan…just sayin’l

Lots of good coaching performances when you have six ranked teams and a seventh team that played well against tough competition. Have to pick a winner based on resources they drew from, so good choices.

I enjoyed reading you take on the coache's votes for the standout coaches and players of the year.

On another subject, I don't think Deon Sanders selection as Colorado's head football coach will benefit the PAC 12. I noticed that Deon's first move was to tell CU's returning players that they should hit the transfer portal. If that report is accurate, that is a Bush league move. I know some coaches do that and that he wants to build a program but that doesn't make it right. I think he will have problems adjusting to the expectations in the PAC12.

John.

You called it , as always !....Both UW and Coach Jonathan deserved to share Pac 12 Coach of the year. OSU was 1 defended Pass away from playing in the Pac 12 Championship game. The race is now on for the next best QB now that Nix is one and done !....NO ONE knows better QB play then the Fiesta Bowl MVP QB

Smith !....let the Nike media fawn over whomever Lanning is able to get..!.... No one knows QB play better then Smith ! I’ll take his choice over Lanning’s , any day of the week !

so in terms of fairness, my vote for Coach of the Year was Jonathon Smith or Kaleb DeBor over Utah's Coach Whit.

By the same token on the players side, Utah led the Pac12 defense in practically most every category (source Fox Pac12 CG pregame). Clark Phillips could have sleep walked into his 1st team since most of the award is based on reputation. But why is only one Utah guy on the first team and Blackman from USC is there when their defense got shredded. Cole Bishop should have made the All Pac-12 defensive team.

"How far away was OSU from being 11-1?"

Yes. Astounding.

Also congratulations to Smith and Martinez. Well deserved.

Coach of the Year of award properly split. Also like the nice collection of Beavs on the all-conference list. And kudos to Anthony Gould and Jack Colleto for special teams honors. Hard to feel anything but warm and fuzzy about this year’s awards overall.

Coaches did a better job choosing than the media did!

I thought the totals racked up by Oregon State were phenomenal. I saw (19) including the honorable mentions. That is almost the entire 1st string. The Beavers also had (5) on the 1st Team and (4) on the second team. That is such a tremendous improvement over past years, the reason the Beavs are a top level QB from CFP contention, and all the credit goes to Coach Smith for finding mid and low- 3 star athletes and getting them competitive against the 4 and 5 star players on other teams

I think they both did great jobs, but I have to give the nod to DeBoer.

The speed at which he took a total dumpster fire and transformed the culture and roster as need be, into a 10 (maybe 11) win team is staggering.

Smith did a good job also, but it's been a multiyear build and so I think accolades for him really are more about an overall accomplishment to this point, and not necessarily about this year.
