Where was the dazzling talent? I was pretty dazzled the way the QB escaped the Beaver rush. If they'd have gotten him even a couple times when he was trapped, the result would have been different.

Shouldn't we wait until USC beats somebody to declare them elite? Stanford, Rice, Fresno State and OS isn't exactly murderer's row. The problem with pansy-ass non-conference games is that you don't know how good someone is until at least mid-season.

USC looks like an all star team purchased on Amazon. All the parts seem to be there but its not working quite right. Ironic that the one part that did work right was a resale piece from the Ducks.

What is saw from the Trojans was a mediocre QB and porous offensive line. That combined with a fast, aggressive and impressive OSU defense stifled the USC offense. Hard to overcome 4 picks and a missed FG, however.

There's plenty of football to be played and this Pac-12 season looks very interesting so far. Oregon State still has a chance to win some big games.

I watched from New Zealand via my VPN and a dodgy website. Did the same for Oregon/Wazzu. The Beavers could well have won - but 4 turnovers to none is too much to overcome. The Beavs will be just fine IMO. USC? See-ya. Enjoy thos cross- country flights.

The Ducks? Great win. Still hella work to do but I'll take it.

Yep. Beavers beat themselves. That's going to sting in the morning.

A win is a win on a night win the QB didn't have his best stuff, go beat the Utes next week and you may have an argument about a rematch which I'm sure the Trojans would love on a neutral site for the CCG. #FightOn

Should have, could have, but didn’t. USC still has 3 tough games left on paper. I hope the rest of the league sees that USC isn’t as good as they think they are.

USC has traded their chariot steeds for plough horses. The Trojan warrior now sports a straw hat and brandishes a hoe.

Good luck in the B1G! and enjoy all the red eye flights. The vastness of the country will devour you.

Do you think this game, though a loss, changed some of the national perception about the Beavers? They lost to the #7 team by 3 points in a game they should've, would've, could've won. To me, this was less about the Trojans winning and more about the Beavers losing, as the title to your piece suggests. It would be a lot different sans a WR dropped pass, a WR holding penalty, a missed 46-yard field goal, a missed holding call, and a missed PI call. It seems like voters and ESPN are giving USC more credit for beating OSU than they deserve.

Travis Dye was the difference in the game. He carried their offense. Williams looked average, other than his elusiveness. I’m just left to wonder why we didn’t continue to run the ball more with Jam. He averaged 7 yards per run. Our O line did a good job and we should have just pounded the ball done their throats. We lost by 3 points and had 4 turnovers. USC wasn’t the better team, they just played well enough at the end to win and took advantage our our mistakes.

The unforced errors ( penalties) played larger than the turnovers. Fewer penalties, no need for a couple of those passes that were picked off. Fixable issues but issues nonetheless.

Proud of the Beavers, they played with a lot of “want to”.

It was painful to watch for us Beaver fans. Nolan definitely has to decide whether he wants to be a quarterback or pick a different profession. Smith, on the outside, is the calmest coach I’ve seen in a longtime, but I bet he was already planning Sunday’s practice. I think he and the team will rebound and probably be better for the loss. Finish licking your wounds Beavs then help Nolan figure out how to clean up those passes.

Nolan is more than a bit of a liability.

Four turnovers with no takeaways won’t win many games in a matchup like last night’s.

Can’t stand the Trojans…

GO DAWGS
