Anyway, I believe college football should equalize the number of conference games played each year. If P12 goes to a "Pod" system, teams should play only eight conference games each year, or however many the other Power 5 conferences play. Or the SEC and others should go to a ninth conference game. But please, don't replace that ninth conference game with a Division II patsy. Thanks JC!
It’s important for the PAC 12 to keep its traditional rivalry’s alive. The proposed pod scheduling accomplishes that goal. It’s a mistake if the league goes in another direction.
OK with "pod" idea but not 9 conference games. Go 8 and use that other one for some quality non-conference games. Gives Pac-12 a better shot at CFP since they're perceived as weak overall.
I can envision a scenario where three teams, one from each pod could finish with one loss having played neither of the other two ending with the same record. Won't that be fun.
You left out the best part of the Jimmy Lake comment. It was that Oregon wasn’t “academically prowess”, like Washington, which Duck fans delight in reminding Husky fans daily on message boards. Fun with adjectives and adverbs, but that’s 7th grade grammar class, yes?
Playing 3 of 4 from each of the other pods helps with recruiting. It is also a relief Oregon and Washington should play annually to make sure the Ducks have at least one gimme game in November annually.
Pete Carroll had a couple pretty memorable run-ins with Jim Harbaugh and Mike Bellotti. Unfortunately, none of them are in the league any longer. .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqmmxOsJW1Y
I’d pay good money to see Herm and Lincoln get after each other in the mat, but only if Canzano served as referee. Got a whistle, John? 😉

Still hoping, despite your relationship with Merrit, you will do an extended piece on the Timbers/Thorns front office fiasco
