Darn you you John…you did it again. Started my day off with tears…AND smiles galore. If you have spent a lifetime with the love of your life or know someone who has it’s easy to relate to this story in so many ways. Thanks to your your human side again. XXOO
So awesome. Great story and so badly needed right NOW. We have so much and yet everyone is in a disagreement. Open your eyes and see the good in this world. That story illustrates how much we can see even if we’re blind. Keep kicking ass John!
Damn, you tell a story so well, John. It's always a pleasure to read your column. And, yeah, sports and the stories of sports, is about the last thing that does really unite us. Even our disagreements in this topic are not that bad! I remain hopeful so long as the "good" sports stories do get told. Thanks.
John, another moment of enlightenment. My eighty eight year old wife is in recovery from cataract surgery on her left eye as I read this (she had the right one done a couple of weeks ago), so I need a heads up from time to time on how blessed we are, and how we should have a more positive outlook on our "care giving" responsibilities, seeing them as a blessing rather than a burden. Thank you.
Ok once again I am sitting here after reading this & my eyes are tearing up. Yes, we all go through life making adjustments along the way, wow what a great example they are. Great story & if we could just live one day in the life of someone like Diane, we would all be better humans. Thank you for reminding us.
Another very inspirational story, related so well by the greatest storyteller of sports-related personalities, John Canzano! Keep up the good work—this message made my day! Thank you again!😍

Girl Dads are just the Best.
What a beautiful story and I will always think of the Vanilla Gorilla, Wheels and Antonio Harvey in a very positive light for reaching out to her.

Thanks for being here Mark. Great example of a column I could only write here. I appreciate that you and so many others are here for it.
Thanks, John…
Life is a bunch of adjustments…and…a box of chocolates..
Wonderful life lesson..
Darn wind in my eyes…
Thank you Rob.
A beautiful reminder of what I love about sports. The human element. The connection. Joys. Disappointments. Elation. Desolation.
Love your stuff John. Thank you for your work. For moving us beyond the box scores and bringing the human experience into focus.
