Its 5:30 AM Monday here in New Zealand. Grab my phone from the nightstand and linger over another gem from Canz. Thanks, JC. And go Mark Go!

Guess I'll have to squeeze one more name on my sports prayer list: Sabrina, Ruthy, Satou and now, Mark. Thanks, John, for a great story of faith and perseverance.

We need good stories. The fact that he's made it to the bigs is such a win.

John, Monte Vista came within 3 points of winning the Northern California championship vs McClymonds. If they won, they would have played for the state title. Coached Mark his sr season of baseball.

Thank you. He must have been something on the mound as a high schooler.

Nothing like the human spirit. Good for him and thousands of others in all walks of life. So many find a way to get back on the horse and try again. Another good story for the “locker room bulletin board”. Thanks John

Reminds me a lot of Jim Morris "the Rookie" story.

Thank you, John....for providing a glimpse inside Mark's historical battle from, perhaps, his lowest days to being back in the Majors. Also, thank you for adding the part about his strong faith in God and how that kept him strong. These stories remind us that we all should be supportive of people in these situations and pray that they overcome their struggles. I thoroughly support his tenacity and grit in reaching the top of the baseball mountain once again! God Bless You, Mark!!!
