John, this is an excellent essay that frames decisions made and how they affect people in the wake. Smith made his decision, and he has to live with it and his $. Rueck made his decision to stay, and he will rebuild and return to the NCAA tourney—eventually. These two coaches couldn’t be more different in personality, values or record of achievement.
