Great pictures by Naji Sacker!! Definitely caught the intensity of the game!!

Too bad he wasted film on the worst President the United States has ever had!!

Pretty much a b.s. post...but there's always a nimrod that has to bring politics into a sports board.

J. Marcus Wood (Marcus)'s avatar

Real Rich, Anyone ignorant of the nexus between sports and politics in American life must joyfully live in an alternate reality. Kindly can the snark on someone’s free speech take on the “skunk at the picnic” at that terrific game…..

The Real Rich's avatar

J. Marcus, your "free speech" lecture always seems to come from someone who agrees with the ideology expressed.

Most of us completely realize there's a political connection to sports, that's a great grasp of the obvious, so spare me that little bloviation about "free speech", o.k.?; However, the majority on the BFT come here to get away from politics and other day to day issues, they simply would like to enjoy sports. Give it a little thought.

We will soon see the Indiana team being hosted by Pres. Trump in the WH ! Our great Prez with College football’s greatest team !👍🏿

Was Joe Biden at the game? John, it’s time to nip this kind of comment on a popular sports site in the bud!

Dude, you were much kinder than I was about to be.

The Real Rich's avatar

...yawn...as if anyone gives a rip.

Much suffering's avatar

You cared enough to reply...

The Real Rich's avatar

I enjoy watching you self-implode. No one takes the bait like you.

The Real Rich's avatar

Oh, don’t worry, I enjoy helping the disadvantaged.

Bill Anderson's avatar

Were our two GREAT Hoosier State VPs there? Pence & Quayle? Sorry, can’t resist. Go ahead and slam me for being political , but why was DJT there, except for political reasons?

Andrew Manchester's avatar

And maybe he enjoys a good game.

Not everything that blow hard does is political. Why make it so?

But it is narcissistic…

You’re a dolt and and a bad actor and don’t deserve whatever u have.

Incredible shots! As an old SID, I looked at photos of Stanford games for many years and then bowl games for many years afterward. Saker's production from the national title game is among the best I've ever seen.

Steve in Eugene's avatar

Gary, I must agree with you about John’s photographer. John gives him access and Naji takes it from there. What do you think the dive photo is worth?

Gary Cavalli's avatar

Good question. Not sure what current pricing might be. But there were lots of similar shots taken of that dive, so it would be hard to pinpoint one for extreme value. I was more impressed by the quantity of great shots Saker got.

Really outstanding photos and background information.

Your photographers have done a great job all year, John--just outstanding! They bring life and perspective to each game.

👍👌❤️ Thanks for the great coverage from Miami.

Oregon's breaking point? Dante Moore has started 20 football games. He lost twice this season to the National Champions and their Heisman-winning QB, and he did not have all hands on deck in the Peach Bowl game.

A ridiculous call on the first play from scrimmage - in our own territory, let's throw a pass to the sideline against one of the best QBs in college football.

Dante played great on Oregon's 2nd drive. Turned the ball over deep in his own territory on the third drive. A TO caused by running an RPO with an inexperienced RB in the game.

Floodgates - Open

Dante improves as much in 2026 as he did this season; see you in Las Vegas.

John Barlow's avatar

If you can stand it, watch a replay of that first play. Indiana's safeties were out of position and there was a touchdown on the right side if Dante had looked and thrown that way.

Ben Johnson's avatar

That's the coaches job to have a system to check to that. Indiana DB was sitting on a tendency that Oregon showed over and over this season. Hopefully they analyze this and come up with a system similar to ours that takes the easy access throws and attacks the holes in the defense. Every defensive coverage scheme has a weakness as well as a strength. Oregon is close, but this coming year, the coaches have to win the off-season to GET'R-DONE next year.

Farrier Irene's avatar

WOULDA,, COULDA, SHOULDA LOTS AAND LOTS OF BAD THINGS COULD HAPPEN BEFORE THE DUCKS GET TO VEGAS.

jon joseph's avatar

True, and the same for every other team with a realistic chance of playing for the 2026-27 title.

Indiana's 16-0 included a 4th Q win at Oregon, late scores to defeat Iowa and Penn State, a whiff by a usually reliable Ohio State FG kicker, and a hard-fought battle against Miami with B12 refs swallowing their whistles all night long.

No easy day in today's CFB with talent disbursed like never before. 2nd and 3rd string players on Bama would no longer be All Big Ten, as was the case under Nick Saban.

Will pollsters and the committee wake up and start valuing the middle of the B1G instead of salivating over every SEC team with a heartbeat?

That Oregon was supposedly out of the PO if it suffered a 2nd loss to a Big Ten school was absurd.

Also absurd, Vanderbilt being ranked ahead of Iowa in the final AP Poll. THIS is why Tony Petitti wants automatic qualifiers. Greg Sankey does not want a 16-team field with 11 at-large selections for The Good of the Game, but for the good of the SEC.

Best of luck to your team in 2026. I think you are an SC fan? Should be one heck of a battle in 2026 when Oregon visits the Coli,

Guess Mark Cuban shows real men can wear pink!

Andrew Manchester's avatar

Using Mark Cuban as an example? He wouldn't support the NBA exec that criticized their involvement in China. (Neither did the other teams)

Kathy Witkowski's avatar

And that matters to whom?

Great stuff, John. Your work during the CFP was really insightful and I enjoyed every one of your pieces. You brought a different perspective than other stories I read.

John Canzano's avatar

Appreciate this.

I’m honestly more about the stories than the photos, but these were definitely the best collage of the year!!

Naji you are awesome !!! Great photos and perspectives. Glad you’re working with JC

John Canzano's avatar

Naji had a great season.

John Barlow's avatar

Please submit these photos for any prizes available. They are the best I have seen from the entire CFP.

The Hoosiers gave us a night to remember and genuine inspiration we ALL needed! Thanks for the photo spread. John, hope you’ll do a column on Nick Saban’s commentary on the blatant personal fouls (not called) on Mendoza by Cristobal’s players (goons?) seen by any fan TV or in the stadium not sight impaired. OSU '78. Moved to Eugene '79 and "inherited" the Ducks same year.

Rand H. Wintermute's avatar

Greg . You should have inherited the other OSU in Oregon ! Your colors align more with Orange and black instead of yellow and green !
