Heartbreaker for Portland State but nice to see them battle a top 10 program down to the wire. Chris Fisk was great at Central Washington, might be very good at Portland State, too. Good hire.
John, thanks for this story about the PSU game, I was pleasantly surprised to see it. I was at the game with my 8 year old daughter who “devoured” the game and had a ton of fun. And I had a great time too!
Tough loss for sure - but signs of improvement all over the shoppe, yeah? Considering the absence of leadership from the Park Blocks, what Fisk is crafting is impressive. I'll pulling for the Viks.
I noticed on Instagram; mention of specific PSU/Davis players from local high schools......Jesuit, Central Catholic. Big Shout to new PSU coach, for getting the squad to play with "fire in the belly"
Portland State looked fantastic in the first half, but the wheels came off in the second half. PSU has some talent though, and this might end up a bit of a surprising season for the Vikings.
That's a question for people in the city of Portland. Get off your butts and get out to a local game. Great way to spend 3 hours on a Saturday in the fall.
One of the issues is that I don't recall seeing any mention of the game before hand in The Oregonian or any other news source. Hard to get people to attend when there is no publicity ahead of time.
Okay, this is hard to believe but this is what Portland State is battling in their city. I'm not kidding on this, it's not an SNL skit. They had a parallel parking contest in Portland and hundreds of people showed up. No lie I mean you couldn't even pay me to watch this. This is what Portland is, it's not weird like they think it is, it's stupid. I don't know how Portland State could build any kind of fan base with a dumb populous like this.

Hey Bill I dare you to go into the Portland State locker room and say that comment to the football players who played their hearts out.

I enjoyed watching PSU battle and play really hard against sixth ranked Cal-Davis. The outcome was disappointing but the effort was spirited.👍🏈
gotta remember, peeps--these are young men trying their best to fulfill a dream. give 'em a break :)

2,300 fans — is that real. How do you justify having a program?

For 3 QTRS...Looked like a solid team. The issues look fixable...Keep Rock'n onward coach.
Should PSU even be playing football? No they shouldn’t!
