The cheerleaders look nice.

Portland State scored in the first quarter against Oregon. Colorado couldn't do it till the 4th. 😅

As for CU, a new head coach, a new offensive coordinator, a new defensive coordinator, almost an entirely new roster of players - and they get steamrolled by an established program, playing at home. Imagine that.

Go Ducks!

John... great...but how about that Utah defense? Held UCLA, and this is not a typo, to 9 yards on 32 rushes for a 0.3 average. They also sacked vaunted Freshman Dante Moore seven times, forced him into a pick six, and allowed him to only complete 15 passes on 35 attempts.

It wasn't my primary screen, but what an incredibly impressive performance! Watching that defense had to make Rising's knee feel better.

Joe, the defense is the only thing keeping Utah above water. We're playing our 4th string QB and have zero offense. We're missing our top QB, our top receiver, our top two RBs, a number of defensive starters and key contributors, etc...I've never in my almost sixty years seen a team have so many injuries and remain unscathed so deep into the season. Eventually, it's going to catch up with us.

I hope it doesn't, but that is a lot to overcome even for a program as strong at Utah.

Yeah, I thought Chip was an offensive savant… apparently not this game. Uiagalelei does not look good on the Palouse

DJU is looking like the guy Clemson gave up on. Chip is an offensive savant but has always had problems at Rice-Eccles. I still can't believe that so many so-called experts thought that UCLA was going to walk into Utah and dominate with an 18 year old freshman as their QB. Oh well, now you know.

How nice of you to remember and to say so. I'm still in Eugene, but happily enjoying retirement.

I thought you were in Seattle for some reason. Whenever I remember what a great newspaper we used to have I think of you and Welch and Dorcus Smucker, and lots of others, but its late and I'm old. They gleefully related in today's paper they were bringing back all the comics from the 50's. Dennis the Menace??? I delivered the Des Moines register in the 6th grade and thought it was lame. Met Hank Ketcham when I was in my 20's onboard my ship when the Navy thought it would boost morale. That was 1972.

I call it USA Yesterday.

Glad to have you aboard this huge ship that Canzano is captaining. It's an interesting journey

Sweet pics you two! Wish there was one of the run by Casey Rogers on the fake punt!

Crushed the loud coach. Prime is now in the 11 PM slot. Proving once again what John Wayne said, "It ain't braggin' if you can do it." Lanning led quietly until he fired up the troops then blew Deion off the field. Deion and his band of transfers learned what a real team is today. And. y'know... he couldn't do it.

Maybe this will shut up the national media. They had already said he was so incredibly great he would be moving to the NFL next year. I'm surprised they didn't pencil him in for a Super Bowl win in the next 3 years too. I guess making a mockery of any semblance of athletes going to school and nepotism with your kids blew up in his face. Its bad enough I cannot read a news outlet without seeing the ugly faces of Trump and Musk every day, but the incessant boosterism of THE COACH PRIME (sunglasses for sale on Amazon) was way over the top.

Though Ducks dominated, still too many sloppy penalties. Halftime in Pullman now, and Beavers struggle. Cougars are fired up and OSU adjustments will be interesting to see. Cardinal hanging tough in Palo Alto. Wow, what a fun Saturday! Oh yeah, GO BIG GREEN!

John, Thank you for the game pictures. Yes, the PAC-12 is loaded, but there has been a leveling within the heirarchy. I was impressed with OSU's run blocking and RBs, and Wazzoo seems much more consistent and a tough out; UW and Michael Penix look very good offensively, and the Utes have the best defense; the Ducks have more work to do but they are improved (particularly Special Teams and their entire defense); the Trojans are talented and inconsistent, and UCLA just experienced a really good defense at altitude; the Stanford-Arizona outcome was much closer than expected.

Thanks again for the pictures and commentary. I remain VR, J Horvath

Spectacular photos! It's hard to capture visually the essence of a football team that often doesn't seem to want to hit anyone, or get hit, but Shedeur's massive rib padding comes pretty close.

Colorado and the spread, and the over were the popular bets and neither happened. Draftkings and Fanduel have become so big that they're determining outcomes of games.
