Arizona wins in Eugene for the first time since 2015.
EUGENE — Arizona finally broke through at Matthew Knight Arena, handing Oregon an 87-78 loss on Saturday.
The Wildcats snapped a six-game losing skid in Eugene behind 36 points from guard Caleb Love. Oregon had not lost to Arizona at home since 2015.
"Too many mistakes by players -- by me -- to beat a good team,” said UO coach Dana Altman. “... we’re not going to be successful giving up that many easy baskets.”
Jermaine Couisnard scored 20 for the Ducks. N’Faly Dante added 19. Photographer Naji Saker was on the scene.
“Basketball season is a long season,” Altman said. “There are lots of ups and downs. This was a big down… hopefully, we’ll regroup and do some good things.”
