Canzano: Yachts, parties, DJs... and oh, yeah, football
Come behind the scenes at the CFP title game.
MIAMI — The media party for the College Football Playoff championship game is being held on a megayacht on Sunday night.
The vessel has four decks.
It’s 20,000 square feet.
Should be a bang-up event with live music, an open bar, and a buffet. I can’t wait to hear what the curmudgeon media crew I run with complains about. Probably the wifi. Or maybe the shuttle ride from the media hotel, which happens to be the five-star JW Marriott Marquis.
I’ve vowed to bring you with me on this trip. I’m in Florida for Miami-Indiana. On Sunday morning, I attended the final news conference before kickoff in a fourth-floor hotel ballroom. Mario Cristobal and Curt Cignetti took turns channeling their inner Clint Eastwood.
At one point, someone asked the coaches what winning a national championship would do for their respective programs. Cignetti went first.
