I like a ‘homer’ sports radio broadcast.
Also, I appreciate a good psychological study.
USC gave the world both on Saturday at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Trojans radio broadcaster Pete Arbogast was the star. People who know Arbogast tell me he’s a harmless guy who was struck blind by USC football years ago.
“He’s kind of a boob,” said one long-time Trojan supporter, “but he’s our boob.”
Arbogast happened to be working alongside Shaun Cody, a former USC player who served as the radio analyst on Saturday. And they happened to be working under the watchful eyes and ears of a certain Southern California football coach who has a history of being thin-skinned and punitive.
Did that play a role in what ensued?
