Chauncey Billups ran into the arms of the Trail Blazers organization over the weekend. The head coach agreed to a multi-year contract extension.

First, though, a quick story.
In the winter of 2005, Darius Miles was a problem for Portland’s NBA franchise. The small forward had a beef with coach Maurice Cheeks. They got into it one day during a film session. Cheeks was criticizing Miles and the player fired back, directing a series of racial slurs and insults at the coach.
