ESPN’s College GameDay will be in Salt Lake City on Saturday in front of the Oregon vs. Utah football game. On Friday, I’ll have Kirk Herbstreit on my radio show.

He’ll join at 3 p.m. PT. Tune in or stream the show (3-6 p.m.) live on Friday. It will be a fun talk with a guy who is plugged into football.

**UPDATE — listen to the Herbstreit interview here:

Herbstreit is in Buffalo for the Thursday night Buccaneers vs. Bills game on Amazon Prime Video. He’ll fly to Utah on Friday, host ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday morning, then hop a plane to Southern California where he’ll call Colorado-UCLA alongside Chris Fowler that evening on ABC from the Rose Bowl.

A couple of weekends ago at Husky Stadium, I saw Herbstreit before the Oregon-Washington game kicked off. I took a video of him taking his dog for a stroll on the sideline during pre-game warm-ups. I’ll ask him about that.

I’m also interested in how Herbstreit is navigating the Thursday NFL broadcasts in concert with his college duties. What’s it like to work with Al Michaels? What does he think of the Pac-12’s final season? Any further thoughts on Washington State and Oregon State? And does Herbstreit think Oregon and/or Washington will be a playoff team?

The initial College Football Playoff rankings are released next week. We’ll have a lot to talk about. If you have a question you’d like me to ask Herbstreit on Friday drop it in the comment section below.

Last week I went 4-0 picking Pac-12 games, straight up. I was 2-2 vs. the spread. I’m fascinated by this Saturday’s games and looking forward to seeing what happens.

My 2023 season record vs. the spread: 27-22-1 (55 percent)

My 2023 straight-up record: 50-9 (85 percent)

My Week 8 picks, thoughts and predictions…
