Thanks John. We all need to hear stories and everyone needs somebody like Jimbo in their lives.

Excellent! Giving it up for Coach Jimbo. Also, remarkable young lady, who persevered through the gauntlet of injuries. Her life seems to be turning out rather well. Keep these stories coming please.

Nice article. I thought I recognized the Wazzu player. Lacey, from Tacoma, is in the top 5 all time scoring leaders at Wazzu. I bet the little one will be a good ball player because of those genes. Go Cougs!

The great thing about sports is it literally SAVES THE WORLD. My world has consisted of sports my entire life. When I look outside of sports, I think...WHAT A MESS. If only the world operated like the culture inside of a good sports program.

Appreciate you John. Had a great first week of practice at ACU...these girls are special, crazy good at football. Should do a story on Coach Mac and the work he has done developing girls football in Arizona. Truly a messenger from God! He's a GOAT full of divine 9 energy!

Outstanding...Keep finding these people John and telling their story. There are thousands of these people, serving others, coaching in small places and having the time of their life doing it. Made my day, John, made my day!

Another masterpiece story about overcoming adversity. Character, more often than not, wins. Character steeped coaches become the conduit for these instances of athletes, like Laci, fighting to find their path. I played college ball with Clif Wegner, who was men’s basketball coach at Clackamas for 28 years until his passing last year. Clif was that coach for so very many young men that played for him.

I saw the headline, my first thought was, “why would John write about Jimbo Fischer!” This is a Jimbo we can all admire and aspire to be the same way in our chosen endeavours. It reminds me of the kindness I received from the man who parked my car at local hospital when he found out I got “bad news” as he retrieved my car. Humbled was I and grateful for your gift of reminding us what matters John. Thank-you!

What a great story. We need to\ see that good things are still happening to good people. It's why I love your stories.

Clackamas Community College - almost in my backyard in my old home town. Coach Jimbo is a great representative for the school, a standout coach and just a great guy.

Thanks John for sharing the stories that we all need to hear.

Hey John, I rarely read your human interest stories, even though you are such a talented writer. It is just a me thing. However, I read this one, and it really resonated with me. Great story and writing.
