Canzano: Washington State should go outside the box

Rick Neuheisel has had contact with officials at Washington State.

It’s still early in the process. But I became aware of an interesting development on Saturday night. Rick Neuheisel and Washington State interim athletic director Jon Haarlow have had some preliminary contact about the job vacancy left by Jimmy Rogers, I’m told.

Meanwhile, an intermediary working on behalf of Chip Kelly spent Saturday poking around the edges of the Cougars’ sudden search, too.

Said the source: “I know it sounds like a stretch, but Chip might be interested in taking a crack at WSU, given the 12th spot in the CFP.”
