You always research deep then pass on interesting observations. Bring Jobs on…

It feels like just Tuesday you were suggesting MacKenzie Scott was in the running, despite the fact her life's work is pretty clearly pointed in a different direction. Now it's Powell-Jobs? She's ALSO got better things to do.

Ellison is Howard Schultz 2.0. I don't think the league wants to go through that again.

Six months ago, I would have said it'll be a crypto bro. That doesn't seem viable now.

I think you're right about whoever loses on the Broncos, that's the list of suitors for the Blazers and Seahawks. Minus Ellison.

MacKenzie Scott's name came up. But Powell-Jobs is already an investor in the WNBA and Adam Silver would love to have a high profile female majority owner. I think he'd push for her and we all know the NBA plays a part in this. Ellison has been out-bid three times.

Seems like someone (not you, but whoever's talking to you) is just throwing around the names of wealthy women and trying to fit them into a narrative. If Powell-Jobs wants an NBA team, I'm all for it and Silver should move heaven and earth to get it done. I just don't see it. The WNBA is one thing, but the NBA is something very different. I'm not saying she doesn't have the funds (she does), but I wonder how the NBA fits into her passions. She doesn't strike me as someone interested in owning a men's team in any sport.

I've been wrong before. I'll be wrong again.

Ellison would be poison. That's all I have to say about that.

Source is solid. League wants the right owner. Powell-Jobs would be a win. So would MacKenzie Scott, frankly. Both socially conscious and philanthropic and wealthy enough to get it done.

Agree on all that. Still, it seems like the idle chatter of men telling each other "you know what I would do if I were that rich..." As though Scott and Powell-Jobs can't think of better things do do with $4 billion. I know it wouldn't occur to any of the women in my life to own a sports team were they that rich.

I've been wrong before.

two potential bidders — Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and Laurene Powell-Jobs, Apple co-founder Steve’s widow. What happened to McKenzie? (Bazo's X). She was 1 of 2 earlier?

It has seemed that during the past GM regime the Blazer leadership wanted to be above scrutiny, yet consistently was irresponsible in regard to personnel and simple Justice. The sooner present ownership is gone the better our community and team will be. May not be bald faced, but it is the truth!

Stripping the state's most accomplished, award-winning and well-read columnist of said credential tells us all we need to know. Trail Blazers Inc is a bush league operation, reminiscent of 45's White House.

If Jobs becomes the new owner then I hope we see the WNBA return to Portland.

USC picking up a lot of good athletes and doing a major overhaul on their roster. The coaches now have a major job during Fall practices in finding the right spot for all these new faces. They're going to be much better in November-December than September-October. If they can avoid early upsets/losses, they'll be a national factor. They'll definitely be better in 2023.

Not to win any popularity polls, but for the past twenty years I always thought the biggest favor the Vulcans could do would be to move the Blazers to Seattle, and open up an opportunity for a more market friendly ownership and franchise here in Rip City.

re: Blazers and “The franchise has frequently been short-sighted, insecure and petty.”

Truer words were never spoken.

Trailblazers are on the verge of being an asterisk to mediocrity and irrelevance. Someone needs to write the check and stock the organization with men and women that will put the Game first - nothing but good will come from an administrative team with an ego-free outlook
