Canzano: USA Sports barnstorming across Pac-12
Ryan Leaf: "It was important for us to lead the way."
Turns out I’m not the only one doing a barnstorming tour of the new Pac-12 Conference.
A broadcast team and production crew from USA Sports dropped in on Colorado State on Friday. The contingent will hit Texas State on Saturday, then knock out visits to Boise State and Washington State on Sunday and Monday.
Four colleges.
Four days.
Ryan Leaf, one of the TV analysts hired by the network to work Pac-12 games, is on the trip. I reached him at lunchtime on Friday, as he sat in the Rio Grande mexican restaurant in Old Town. The place been around since the 1980s. I’m told the Tex-Mex food is great. And Leaf told me, “The server saw our ‘USA Sports’ shirts and said, ‘Are you here about the football team and coach (Jim) Mora?’”
