It was with great hope and anticipation that the Trail Blazers announced their new TV play-by-play broadcaster on Thursday.
Unfortunately, the guy didn’t last a single day.
Braiden Bell was fired by the franchise on Thursday evening, as first reported by KGW News. Per the TV station, misogynistic and racist comments on Twitter from when Bell was a teenager surfaced.
The NBA team apparently wasn’t having it.
It’s the latest embarrassing development for a franchise that has tripped all over itself since Tom Dundon’s ownership group purchased the team. It amounts to a complete lack of oversight and due diligence by the Dundon-led Trail Blazers.
