ATLANTA — Staff at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl opened Media Registration on the event level of the 73-story Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Oregon and Indiana were still a day away from kicking off their College Football Playoff semifinal game down the street at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. But the buzz among staffers was about a Wednesday night dispute between Indiana and Oregon that could end up as motivation for one or both teams.

Got time for a story?

The Ducks used two Alaska Airlines charters to transport the team, coaches, and support staff to Atlanta. Both were Boeing 737 MAX 9’s. The first one left the Eugene Airport shortly after 1 p.m. PT on Wednesday. The four-hour flight to Atlanta touched down at 8:20 p.m. ET.
