It’s crunch time in the new Pac-12 Conference. The league officially begins again on July 1. The conference presidents and athletic directors will convene one week from Tuesday for a spring meeting, the final meet-up before the conference officially reconstitutes.

The presidents and ADs won’t meet at Pac-12 headquarters at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon, Calif. Given that Oregon State President Jayathi Murthy is the chair, the board decided her home campus in Corvallis should host the meeting.

A new tradition, it appears.

Expansion strategy? A progress report on the final media-rights piece? A Pac-12 brand campaign? Olympic sports schedules? Basketball championship tournament sites? Business operations? Governance? Bylaws? The first football season?

“We’ll be in the weeds on all sorts of different things,” said one league AD.
