Canzano: Takeaways from Pac-12 TV and game times
A look behind the curtain.
Years ago, I was in Las Vegas covering the Pac-12 men’s basketball tournament when one of the sports information directors from the conference’s legacy schools asked me to turn on the television in my hotel suite.
One of the early opening-round games was being played a couple of blocks away at T-Mobile Arena. I was staying in the media hotel, an MGM-owned property.
“Find the game on your TV,” he said. “I dare you.”
The media hotel didn’t offer the Pac-12 Network. None of the hotels on the Strip had it. The sportsbook inside the casino couldn’t get the network, either. I thought about that on Wednesday when the Pac-12’s TV assignments and kickoff times were announced.
