The first victory of Dan Lanning’s head coaching career came on a crisp Saturday in early September during the 2022 season against Eastern Washington.
It was a quiet day and a blowout win, but something Oregon’s coach did that day flew in opposition of an archaic NCAA rule.
Nobody really noticed.
Nobody even brought it up.
Nobody with the NCAA said a thing. But the broken rule was out in the open, for all to see and hear.
