Yards were hard to get. Points were scarce, too. The field was slick. Dante Moore’s nose got busted up and bloodied. We should probably call Saturday night what it is — a rainy, bare-knuckle preamble to the rest of Oregon’s football season.

It looked like one of those back-alley fight clubs spilled through the tunnel at Autzen Stadium. I figured Oregon coach Dan Lanning might come into the post-game pressure, wring out his rain-soaked, tie-dyed sweatshirt, and start with, “You oughta see the other guy.”
