Canzano: Picks, predictions and thoughts for Week 3
Pac-12 will lose exactly one game this week.
You’re going to be told that Week 3 presents a less-than-interesting schedule of Pac-12 Conference football games. I disagree. And don’t tell that to the coaches desperate to clean up mistakes, establish starters and prepare for the wholesale start of conference play.
There’s big risk in Week 3.
There will also be some terrific storylines on Saturday. Colorado State is trying something new and dicey vs. Colorado, for example. I’ll get into that in a moment. UCLA coach Chip Kelly is busy manipulating minds. More on that, momentarily, too. And Washington is trying to overcome a strange grass allergy.
I’m also interested in how far ahead in the schedule Oregon State, Washington State, Oregon and a few others can afford to look right now. (I think they’re permitted to peek, but carefully.)
A fearless prediction for Week 3: The Pac-12 is going to lose exactly one non-conference game.
I went 6-4 against the spread last week and 10-1 picking the Pac-12 football winners, straight up.
My 2023 season record vs. the spread: 12-7 (.632)
My 2023 straight-up record: 21-2 (.913)
My Week 3 thoughts, picks and predictions…
