Like I said before is this really any different than burning their oil? We hate the Chinese human rights issues but we still buy iPhones.

I get the feeling this would not have been scheduled if the club was locally owned. With Texas ownership, they are likely more influenced by what they here from Greg Abbott than Oregonians.

I’m not a fan of the Saudi human rights record at all… it is a money grab! But we also should admit the same about China. I don’t understand how it’s ok to support China, but not the Saudi’s? They’re very much the same. IMHO.

Greg Norman’s comments are akin to saying that Charlie Manson just made a mistake. He is so wrong on this and his motivation is pure greed. Pumpkin Ridge needs to rethink.

Finally someone like Peter has stepped up regarding the LIV event. Incomprehensible if it goes forward. What are you thinking Pumpkin Ridge? Oh, I forgot the almighty greed for money.

Ugh, I don't know, John. The ambiguity on where to draw the line here muffles the outrage to me. I mean, PGA Tour China? Is there a marked difference?

This is a tricky one John. Let's look through a different lens taking the Saudi investment out of it. What if this were an event backed by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Amazon or Samsung? Wouldn't the clear precedent of allowing a limited number of waivers apply, particularly to the planned tournament in the UK in June, be still in place? The question about waivers when a PGA event is scheduled in America presents another problem for sure. Perhaps the tour needs a rule that limits the number of waivers in any given week? This can't just be about the competition for television audience and live attendance - on any given day there are multiple competing games and tournaments vying for audiences. Take yesterday - two NBA championship games, four NHL championship games, the quarterfinals of the Italian Open tennis championships, perhaps a dozen MLB baseball games and yes, the AT&T Byron Nelson in Texas. This is about power and the PGA tour wanting to control as much of it as possible. No?

Trying to do the right thing motivates many of us. There is nothing right about the Saudis, unless you're talking political leanings. I refuse to support anything about the LIV tour. I hope it just dries up and blows away. I don't think I'd mind a tour in competition with the PGA, but the money has to come from somewhere that isn't totalitarian, oppressive, and uses murder as a political tool.
