Canzano: Pac-2 approaching fork in road
Plus, Mario Cristobal's gaffe, guardian angels at Oregon, and more...
The timeline for Oregon State and Washington State to make a decision about what they will do for the 2024 football season is starting to take shape. There’s ongoing litigation, but sources are telling me to keep an eye on the transfer-portal windows for some guidance.
Last week, the NCAA Division I Council approved the dates and windows for a variety of sports. The Pac-12 championship game is set for this Dec. 1 in Las Vegas. Football’s first transfer window — 30 days long — opens the Monday after that game.
The Beavers and Cougars want to be able to tell their football players what the plan is for the 2024 season in front of that window.
Also, I’m being told that OSU and WSU want to do the same thing for men’s and women’s basketball and other sports. College basketball’s 45-day transfer window opens in March, the Monday after Selection Sunday. So expect clarity on where the Pac-2 basketball teams will play sometime before March Madness.
Some other fun and interesting things for your Monday…
