Canzano: Pac-12 tried to steer into football

Expansion, media rights still on minds at Media Day.

LAS VEGAS — Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff stood on stage at Zouk Nightclub on Friday morning not far from the spot where the DJs typically set up.

Nobody mistook the guy for Diplo.

The logos of the Pac-12 teams floated overhead on LED screens. There was a 900-square foot video screen behind Kliavkoff. An arch of speakers and lighting, known as “The Mothership,” hung directly over the dance floor, where reporters covering the event were stationed in narrow rows of tables and chairs.
