The Pac-12 has nine basketball members for 2026, and eight football members.

The new-look Pac-12 landed Texas State and got itself compliant from an NCAA conference standpoint. It now has eight all-sports members, plus Gonzaga, for the 2026 season.

Pac-12 leaders held a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, per sources. Is there a football-only addition out there? How about a basketball member — or two? And what’s the timeline? I did some reporting, talked with sources, and have thoughts.

Also, why did the Pac-12 announce the CBS piece of the media deal more than a month ago, then go quiet?

I’ve also been looking hard at some of the win totals posted in the sportsbook for the upcoming college football season. A few jumped out at me. I dove into facility improvements, quarterbacking, playcalling, and why it’s vital to parlay on-field success into gift-giving, too.

Emptying my notebook today…
