Canzano: Pac-12 ready to kick off football... and plotting basketball
Announcements expected this week.
The Pac-12 Conference is in negotiations with MGM about hosting the annual basketball championship events in Las Vegas, I’m told.
The league declined comment, but sources tell me the Pac-12 will hold its annual March Madness basketball events in Sin City.
The conference officially relaunches on July 1 with eight football-playing members, plus Gonzaga. The Pac-12 has finalized the 2026 football schedule, which I’m told will include an unprecedented twist.
Is that the bigger news?
Week 13 of that football schedule is expected to include a “flex” scheduling element, per campus sources. The Pac-12 football schedule is expected to be released to the public as soon as Wednesday.
