The agenda includes an Oregon winery tour with donors and an alumni event at a brewery in downtown Portland. Kelly Damphousse, the chair of the Pac-12 CEO group and president at Texas State, is traveling to Portland and then Corvallis for Saturday’s football game against Oregon State.
The Bobcats are coming to the Pacific Northwest for a Pac-12 football game. Damphousse’s Thursday-Saturday exploration into the Oregon Territory is a glaring example of college athletics’ expanding horizons.
Networking in new places.
That’s the gig now.

In other data news, the College Football Playoff selection committee released its first set of rankings on Tuesday. The Pac-12’s top team — Boise State — was slotted at No. 25. The Broncos would qualify for the 12-team field in the No. 12 spot if the playoffs started today.
The Pac-12 has been manically focused on getting a team in the playoffs.
Boise State is the carrier of those hopes.
These are precarious times.
