Oregon State’s first season under head coach Trent Bray crashed to a predictable end on the blue turf in Boise, Idaho.
It was Boise State 34-18 over Oregon State on Friday.
The Beavers (5-7) loaded up on defense, brought a safety to the line of scrimmage for run support and sold out trying to stop Heisman-candidate running back Ashton Jeanty.
It worked — in theory.
Jeanty rushed for 226 yards on 37 carries. He scored one TD and was easily the most dynamic player on the field. His presence, even as a decoy, served as a reminder of one of the fundamental axioms in college football — talent wins.
How good is Boise State (11-1)? How far can the Broncos go in the postseason? And how much better can Oregon State’s roster get in the next six months? Success in Bray’s second season as head coach depends on it.
