It’s great to see Oregon State making big progress… I say this as an avid Duck Fan. I always root for the beavers as long as they are not playing the Ducks. It’s good for the State, and it’s good for the conference.

Don't look now, but this could be a very strong year for the PAC12 although they will devour each other with the nine game conference schedule and our 4 and 5 loss teams remain unranked vs. 3-4 loss SEC teams.

Utah begins the season at it's PAC12 zenith. UCLA and Oregon St. are ready to compete with anyone. USC, Washington St., and Washington are all playing inspired football under their new coaches to begin the year. Cal, Stanford, and Arizona St. all are well established programs and never an easy out. Arizona already looks better and Oregon can now fly under the radar. Does anyone get to the PAC12 title game with less than 2 losses?

Oregon State likes being on the outside looking in on the Top 25. It goes with their blue collar/lunch pail identity. It will continue to give the program an edge & motivate them to continue to improve each week. I’m looking for them to stay out of the Top 25 for as long as possible.

I'm near Hillsboro and even I couldn't stay up to see the end of the game. I had a rough night on Friday and was just too tired to keep my eyes open. I went to bed mid-4th quarter and told myself "I'll just see the final score in the morning..."

I also wondered whether GameDay may consider Corvalis until I saw it's on the Pac 12 Network. I know games don't have to be on Disney for them to choose it for the show (ie just this past week), but it would have to be really hard for them to hype up a game that most people East of the Rockies won't even have on TV.

Very small sample size, but I can confirm none of the east coast people in my betting pool watched either OSU/FSU or BYU/Baylor. And when they heard how great both games were they were pretty angry that the networks chose to air them at such an hour. It's a shame that such a large percentage of the county's population misses such good games. I almost think the Pac-12 would be better off agreeing to 9am PT kickoffs than getting banished to the graveyard shift windows.

I thinking playing Georgia and BYU shows that the program is serious. The Ducks recruit well, but unfortunately not as well as Georgia and Alabama. But, I think the fans will settle for Top-10 finishes and playoff appearances. Ask Cal and Stanford fans if they'd like that.

The East Coast snub will only get worse when the PAC-whatever number signs a new media rights deal for the expressed purpose of filling up the ESPN night window on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

I have a feeling that Coach Smith will coach, practice and send his players out on the field totally prepared ranked or not. I suppose deep down it would fill him with some sort of pride to be recognized for all the efforts he and boys put in . But, at the end of the day, it’s a job well done, to the best of your abilities and let the chips fall where they may. Keep up the good work Coach.

Always Ducks for me but man, how can you not love what the Beavers are doing under Coach Smith? Besides, I've matured over the years. Always, always pull for OSU except when playing Oregon. I think the conference is not just going to survive (not implode) but thrive - although 2-4 more schools is probably going to be needed. #GothePac

I think Jack the Hammer could run for Governor of Oregon and win in a landeslide

Go, Jackhammer!

Who would have thunk after all that realignment talk and the demise of OSU/WSU

going to G5 land that they would be the ones people are talking about.

Those two programs have put the Pac on notice...

Is there a Jackhammer PROMO code available ?

You have to admire what Jon Smith has done with the Beavers. Every year, better and better. He’s taken a team whose previous coach gave up on them, and turned them into winners. He showed how much he believes in his team with that go-for-it call, and when his team punched it in they showed how much they believe in themselves. What a culture change. I bleed green and yellow, but I’ll root for Jon Smith — 364 days of the year.
