Canzano: Oregon State's coaching search heats up

Oregon State athletic director Scott Barnes told me on Sunday that he has a list of candidates for the football-coach vacancy.

He’ll move fast.

Also, OSU will use a search firm to assist.

Jonathan Smith announced on Saturday that he’s leaving to become the coach at Michigan State. He’ll be introduced this week. Barnes and Oregon State face making a critical hire on a tight timeline, driven by the opening of the Dec. 4 transfer-portal window.
