Canzano: Oregon State search takes another twist
Is JaMarcus Shephard about to get the job?
Is Jonathan Smith tired of the snow?
Is Justin Wilcox coming back to his home state?
Or is JaMarcus Shephard about to get his first shot?
Those became questions to ask on Wednesday when Montana State coach Brent Vigen announced he was staying at his school.
Vigen is officially off the board of Oregon State’s football coaching search. Montana State’s athletic department announced it by posting on social media that “the journey continues in Bozeman.”
Shephard, an assistant at Alabama, remains the lone finalist still in play in Corvallis. I am told there have been frequent discussions between OSU and Shephard’s agent, but inquiring minds poked at the possibilities after Vigen removed himself on Wednesday.
